This year, students will have an opportunity to create a website for their notebooking and portfolios if they choose. It is available to students in grades 3-5 who are comfortable using a computer.
Students will practice building web pages in a new online system called Weebly. This child-friendly website does not require an email, and just like Edmodo, the websites are teacher-monitored and controlled. We plan to develop the websites privately, then, with your signed approval (see the form below), to make them available for open viewing or for viewing via a parent-chosen password. They will be available for a limited period of time, for parents and friends to view. Accounts will be removed from the web at the end of the school year, but will be archived into a file that the students can save to their computers at home.
Weebly does not require personal information to create an account. Students may choose to share personal information with Weebly, including his/her first name. In addition, though students are encouraged NOT to include identifying information other than their first name, he or she may choose to place
other identifying information on Weebly by editing his or her web page, blog pages or other pages on Weebly and associated sites.
Please contact me with any questions about this exciting new opportunity!
Participation in Weebly requires parent approval
for students under age 13.
Below is the Parent Consent Form to be signed for each student who participates.
Please watch the Video below about Weebly!
Thanks for all of your Support!
