We are embarking on a New Journey that is taking us back in history to the Dust Bowl Era. Students will look in-depthly at documents, pictures, and charts to form opinions and ideas to answer the Big Question, "What Caused the Dust Bowl?" This is what our scholars call a DBQ, also known as a Document Based Question. We will be deciding what played a larger role in the effects of the Dust Bowl. The three factors we will debate are Weather/Rainfall, Shortgrass Prairie, or Mechanization. Students dig deep into the documents to find evidence to support their decision and must "Back It Up!" with thoughts, voice, evidence, and lastly through their writing. Take a look at how we tackled our first DBQ in the classroom on our slideshow. Then scroll to the bottom of the page to learn from the DBQ Project exactly why our Net Generation Scholars are learning in this mode of research, debate, and writing.
